Abstract:

Objective: To explore the effect of buspirone combined with paroxetine on the scores of Hamilton depression scale (HAMD) and Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA). Method: During February 2020 to January 2022, 164 depressed patients admitted to our hospital were recruited as study participants and arbitrarily assigned into two groups (82 cases in each group). In the control group, paroxetine was used, and in the research group, buspirone was adopted in combination with paroxetine. The treatment effect, anxiety and depression, improvement of life quality and occurrence of adverse reactions were compared. Result: Therapeutic effect and life quality scores were higher in the study group (P<0.05). The scores of HAMD and HAMA in the study group were lower after treatment (P<0.05). No remarkable difference in the incidence of adverse reactions (P>0.05). Conclusion: The application of buspirone and paroxetine when treating depression can effectively enhance their psychological state and greatly promote the life quality of patients.
