Abstract:

Objective: To examine the influence of psychological counseling and thoracoscopic lung resection on patients with NSCLC in terms of lung function, anxiety, depression, and quality of life. Methods: From the beginning of 2020 to the beginning of 2022, our hospital admitted 100 patients with early non-small cell lung cancer, splitting them evenly between a control group and an experimental group. Thoracoscopic lung resection was combined with standard care for the control group, while thoracoscopic lung resection was combined with psychological therapy for the experimental group. We assessed patient quality of life by using the Pittsburgh Sleep Scale (PSQI), the European Cancer Research Core Quality of Viability Questionnaire, the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), and the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA). We also looked at the frequency of complications and their impact on pulmonary function (EORTC QLQ-C30). Results: The patients' lung function improved faster in the experimental group than in the control group compared to the control group, and the incidence of side effects was reduced (P<0.05); The patient population in the experimental group was less than that of the control group. The quality of life for patients in the intervention group improved considerably (P<0.05) compared to those in the control group, as measured by the EORTC QLQ-C30. In comparison to the control group, the total response rate was much greater. Conclusion: Non-small cell lung cancer patients who undergo thoracoscopic lung resection in conjunction with psychological therapy had a positive outcome, with a reduced complication rate, increased hope for survival, and an enhanced quality of life that warrants widespread clinical implementation.
