Abstract:
With the continuous advancements in medicine, different measures are also being taken to improve health behavior outcomes and quality of life among women who undergo primary cesarean with bladder flap. This RCT also aims at investigating the postpartum health behavior outcomes among patients who had primary cesarean, with bladder flap usage in Turkey. For this purpose, the urinary and sexual function of 40 participants were investigated. 20 of these participants had primary cesarean with no bladder flap usage (Group I), while 20 had primary cesarean with bladder flap usage (Group II). For urinary function, the score symptoms of pelvic floor were compared between two groups, while for sexual function open-ended survey was conducted with the patients. Statistical analysis (t-test) was conducted for determining the results. Thus, insignificant differences were observed within the score symptoms of pelvic floor before the surgery (p > 0.05), while after the surgery significant differences were observed in scores of POPDI- 6 and UDI- 6. However, for sexual function, significant differences were observed between the groups in context of libido, pain, vaginal dryness and sexual satisfaction (p < 0.05). This study has presented important implications to improve health behavior outcomes among the women who go through primary cesarean, in order to improve their quality of life, improving the overall effectiveness of this research.
