Abstract:
The objective of this study is to ascertain the impact of team knowledge management on the empowerment of sports teams, as examined through the lenses of sports psychology and strategic management. The research study employed a quantitative research methodology. The study focuses on a specific demographic, namely athletes who are members of local sports teams in Saudi Arabia. The data was collected using a survey methodology that adhered to ethical guidelines. Statistical data analysis was conducted using the Smart-PLS software. The study's findings have demonstrated a noteworthy correlation between organisational culture, team knowledge management, team proactivity, and team performance. Additionally, it was discovered that authentic leadership plays a significant role in moderating the connection between team efficacy and knowledge sharing. Furthermore, knowledge sharing was observed to serve as a significant mediator in the relationship between team knowledge management and team performance. The study's findings contribute to the current body of literature in the field of sports psychology and provide valuable insights for managers and coaches regarding strategies to enhance team empowerment. The study additionally offers potential avenues for future research based on the constraints it encountered.
