Abstract:
Objective: To look into how early passive rehabilitation exercises, acupuncture, and moxibustion affect the levels of inflammatory factors in patients who have had rotator cuff repair at different ages, as well as how well the shoulder joint functions and negative emotions. Methods: From January 2021 to March 2022, a total of 78 patients who underwent rotator cuff restoration at our institution were split into two groups: a control group (n=38) and a research group (n=38), with the latter getting more extensive postoperative care. When it comes to rehabilitation, the control group used the tried-and-true method, whereas the research group tried something new: early passive rehabilitation exercise mixed with acupuncture. Before and after treatment, they studied the state of the shoulder joint and measured inflammatory factors, pain, and the TCM syndrome score, Self—Rating Depression Scale(SDS). Results: In terms of gender, age, injury site, and Gerber categorisation of rotator cuff rupture, neither group differed significantly from the other. Shoulder function, inflammatory factor, pain, and TCM syndrome scores were not different between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05). After the intervention, the values of CRP, IL-6, and TNF-a, as well as the UCLA and CMS scores, were greater in the study group than in the control group. As a whole, the VAS , TCM syndrome scores and SDS were significantly (P<0.05) lower in the study group compared to the control group. Conclusion: Early passive rehabilitation exercises and acupuncture have been shown to be highly effective in promoting the recovery of muscle strength, improving the function of the shoulder joint, increasing the range of motion of the shoulder joint, and reducing pain in the shoulder joint and the negative emotions in patients who have undergone rotator cuff repair. The therapy has a considerable impact in the clinic and should be widely used.
